Frequently Asked Questions
Freespira is a medication-free treatment that retrains your breathing patterns. It provides relief by stopping or reducing panic attacks and trauma symptoms.
Freespira helps with panic attacks, panic disorder, and PTSD symptoms. This may include feeling on edge or easily startled, flashbacks, irritability, chest pain, detachment, and more.
Freespira works best for those who have had panic attacks, panic disorder, or symptoms of PTSD for more than a month.
Freespira is an at-home treatment that takes 28 days. It teaches healthy breathing patterns that will reduce hyperventilation, also known as overbreathing. Overbreathing can make panic attacks and PTSD symptoms worse in people who are more sensitive to carbon dioxide.
Freespira is a 28-day program that guides you through breathing exercises with real-time feedback from a sensor displayed on a smart tablet. You complete two treatment sessions twice a day. Each session lasts 17 minutes.
You’ll also have a dedicated Care Specialist you virtually meet with each week. They will guide you through the treatment by monitoring your progress and answering any questions along the way.
Once you complete the treatment, you send the equipment back.
By the end of the program, healthy breathing will feel natural, especially in stressful moments. Most people experience long-lasting relief well after the treatment ends.
Freespira Care Specialists are there to support and guide you throughout your journey. They’ll show you how to use the Freespira system, help you get started with the treatment, tailor the experience to your specific needs, and answer any questions.
The Freespira treatment lasts just 28 days. In many cases, patients experience initial symptom relief within two weeks. The relief often lasts long after treatment has ended.
Some insurances and health plans cover Freespira at no extra cost for eligible members. Other health plans and employers may cover Freespira with a cost share.
