Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) is a debilitating condition that occurs in many people who have experienced or witnessed a traumatic event. People with PTSD have long-lasting, intense, disturbing thoughts and feelings related to their experience. Common symptoms include recurring nightmares, hypervigilance, depression, and difficulty controlling anger and anxiety.
